Ethnica Design is a micro-design studio based in Makassar, Indonesia, founded by Rahmat Zulfikar, M.Ds. in 2015. We specialize in brand design and produce a variety of deliverables including graphics, illustrations, websites, events, audio-visual content, and much more. Ethnica is dedicated to fostering a collaborative atmosphere by working with talented individuals from various fields, blending design, art, psychology, and socio-cultural aspects. Our work is organized into three primary service units: Design, Audio Visual, and Art & Design Management, all propelled by a design-focused approach.

Ethnica Art & Design Management
Ethnica Art & Design Management focuses on the professional direction and management of art- and design-based projects, including events, exhibitions, and collaborative initiatives. We work closely with artists and artisans to align creative visions and ensure cohesive execution. Beyond management, we curate works with cultural and social significance, fostering collaboration and supporting the growth of the creative ecosystem. Our goal is to create meaningful experiences that inspire, connect, and elevate creative practice.
Ethnica Picture
Ethnica Picture develops intellectual property in the form of visual assets and moving imagery. We create and manage video-based projects that communicate ideas through strong visual storytelling. By combining conceptual thinking with technical execution, we transform narratives into engaging visual experiences while maintaining full responsibility for the creative and production process.

Representative

Rahmat Zulfikar, S.Ds., M.Ds. is an interdisciplinary designer, creative leader, and educator whose work integrates conceptual rigor with cultural insight. His practice approaches design as both a strategic discipline and a process of understanding—where aesthetics, ethics, and conscious thinking shape meaningful and responsible outcomes.
Born in Makassar, he studied at STSRD VISI Yogyakarta and earned a Master’s degree in Design from ITB - Institut Teknologi Bandung. Since founding Ethnica Design in 2015, he has led interdisciplinary projects that balance conceptual depth, cultural awareness, and refined execution. Alongside his professional practice, he is a lecturer in Visual Communication Design at Universitas Ciputra and serves as Chairman of Asosiasi Desainer Grafis Indonesia (ADGI) Makassar Chapter, contributing to the advancement of design education and the creative ecosystem.
Rahmat positions design as a form of cultural intelligence and strategic innovation—transforming complex ideas into meaningful experiences while advancing responsible and purposeful creative practice.
